Roll-off dumpster delivery in Fairfield County by Stamford Junk Pros

Demolition contractors don't need a sales pitch on dumpster sizing — you've loaded thousands of cans. What you need is a hauler that shows up on schedule, swaps cans without you babysitting the dispatcher, and handles the disposal flow at licensed CT transfer stations without surprise weight charges. Here's how we run for demo contractors specifically.

Twelve years dropping cans for demo crews and excavators across Fairfield County and New Haven County means the operational stuff is locked in: which transfer station takes concrete, which takes mixed, which won't take asphalt shingles, what the road-legal weight ceiling is for a loaded roll-off. Same up-front pricing as residential — no demo-contractor surcharge, no volume discount.

Sizing reality for demo work

You know this; the table below is for the project file:

  • Heavy debris (concrete, brick, plaster, tile): 10-yard exclusively. Weight kills bigger cans on demo work — a full 20-yard of concrete is over the legal road weight for a roll-off truck. Honest reality: anyone selling you a 20-yard for concrete is selling you on weight overage they'll bill back.
  • Mixed debris (drywall, framing lumber, mixed reno waste): 15-yard or 20-yard works. Weight allowance per size is built into the pricing — go over and you're billed at actual transfer-station rate (not a marked-up "overweight fee").
  • Light bulky (insulation, ductwork, cabinetry, scrap metal mixed in): 30/40-yard if the access supports it.
  • Multi-can rotations: Most demo jobs run multiple cans of different sizes — heavy stuff in 10s, light bulky in 20s+. We handle the scheduling. Set the rotation cadence at the start of the project; the dispatch board carries it.

For phased demolitions (selective demo → structural → cleanup), the rotation pattern often shifts by phase — different sizes, different cadence. Mention the phase plan at the kickoff call and we adjust.

What demo contractors actually need from a hauler

Operational stuff that matters more than the rental rate.

  • Reliable swap timing. Demo crew time is expensive. A late swap pulls the crew off the job. We commit to delivery windows; same-day swap before 11 AM, next-day after. For multi-can rotations, the swap pattern is set in advance and runs without per-swap calls.
  • Disposal flow knowledge. Concrete + brick goes to one transfer station, mixed debris goes to another, asphalt shingles a third, scrap metal a fourth (recycling). Some haulers don't know — they take everything to one station, get rejected loads, then route the cost back to you. We've been doing this 12 years; the routing is locked.
  • Weight reality. We don't surprise-bill for overweight. We educate at delivery — if the load is hot, we tell you. Per-size weight allowance is built into the rental rate; going over is charged at actual transfer-station rate, not a marked-up fee.
  • Permit awareness. Demolition permits are homeowner / contractor responsibility — we don't pull them. But we'll flag if the job obviously needs one (most accessory-structure demos and standalone outbuilding work in our service area). Permit thresholds vary by town.
  • Photo coordination at swap-outs. Most demo jobs benefit from before / during / after photos for project documentation. We'll text photos at swap-outs if you want — request at booking.

  • Paint, solvents, oil, household chemicals (route through CT DEEP hazardous waste)
  • Batteries — any kind, lithium especially
  • Asbestos-containing materials (specialized hauler required)
  • Tires (route to a tire dealer or pay $50/each disposal fee if loaded)
  • Medical waste
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Customer is responsible for re-routing prohibited items. See the full prohibited-items list for Connecticut.

What you see is what you book — no zone pricing, no driveway surcharges, no weekend delivery fees. Standard charges for overweight, extension days, and certain prohibited items disclosed above and confirmed at booking.

Pricing for demo contractor dumpsters

Same up-front pricing as residential. The pricing table below renders the canonical data.

No demo-contractor surcharge, no volume discount. Full reference at How Pricing Works.

For repeat demo accounts, billing flexibility is a conversation. Standard terms are credit card before delivery for the first job; once we know your operation, we work out what fits the project. Call (203) 219-8855 to discuss.

Important distinction — we also do standalone demolition

We have our own standalone demolition service for homeowners. Sheds, garages, decks, hot tubs, pools, fences — custom on-site quotes, our crew does the work. See Demolition for that service.

This page (the one you're reading) is for demo contractors and excavators who run their own crew and just need cans. Two different services with two different customer types:

  • You're a demo contractor running your own crew? → This page. Roll-offs at residential rates with multi-can rotation support.
  • You're a homeowner who needs us to do the demo AND haul?Demolition. Custom quote on site, full disposal included in the job total.

If your scope blurs the line — say, you're a contractor coordinating the demo of a homeowner's outbuilding and you want both the can rental AND our crew to do the actual demo — call (203) 219-8855 and we'll structure the job either way works for you.

Service area for demo contractor work

Same as our overall service area — anywhere within ~1 hour drive of our Stamford or West Haven yard.

Highest-density demo-contractor towns in our dispatch logs: Stamford / Greenwich / New Canaan / Darien / Westport / Wilton / Norwalk / Fairfield in Fairfield County; New Haven / Bridgeport / Milford / Hamden in New Haven County. Coverage extends through Hartford County south of I-84, Litchfield south + east, and the lower New London shoreline. Full town list at Service Area.

For Westchester County NY demo work, same dispatch logic — call (203) 219-8855 to confirm depot routing.

Demo contractors — what they say

Filtered from our review corpus for demo / teardown / excavation mentions. Some reviews come from homeowners using our standalone demo service rather than from contractors — both signal the operational chops.

They are very helpful. They brought me a 10-yard dumpster for a demo project.

My parents used this service for to remove large items (freezers, washer, dryer etc.) and a bunch of old wood from a shed we knocked down. I live in Boston but my parents are in Stamford and needed help with this removal since at their age they were unable to do it themselves. The process was extremely easy and service was punctual and timely. The workers were kind, careful, and fast with the removal the day they came. The yard never looked better.

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Demo contractor dumpster rental FAQs

Do you handle the disposal flow correctly for mixed demo debris?
Yes. Twelve years of running cans means we've mapped which CT transfer stations take what — concrete + brick goes to one facility, mixed debris to another, asphalt shingles to a third. Some haulers route everything to one station and get rejected loads (which then come back as your problem). We don't. Mention the debris mix at delivery and the load goes to the right facility from the start.
Can I get a 20-yard for concrete demo?
No — same reasoning as roofing tear-off. A full 20-yard of concrete is over the legal road weight for a roll-off truck. The honest answer for heavy demo (concrete, brick, plaster, tile) is 10-yard exclusively. For mixed demo (drywall + framing + light bulky), 15- or 20-yard works. For light bulky (insulation, ductwork, cabinetry), 30/40-yard is fine if the access supports it. We size to the actual debris, not the rental rate.
How fast can you deliver multiple cans for a phased demo?
Same-day before 11 AM from Stamford yard, dispatch permitting. After 11 AM or from West Haven yard, next-day. For multi-can phased demos (e.g., 2 cans Monday, swap Wednesday, swap Friday), we set up the rotation in advance — call at the start of the week with the schedule and the addresses, and we put the full sequence on the dispatch board. You don't call every swap; the swap pattern is set.
Do you provide certificates of insurance for our project files?
Yes — these are routine. Tell us at booking that you need a COI and any specific additional-insured language your project requires (general contractor's name, project address, owner name, etc.) and we'll send it. The template is ready; turnaround is usually same day.
Can I get a recurring schedule for a multi-week demo?
Yes. Call (203) 219-8855 with the rough cadence (e.g., '20-yard delivered Monday, swapped Wednesday and Friday, for 4 weeks') and we'll put the recurring schedule on the dispatch board. We don't have a self-serve account portal — recurring service is phone-call coordination. For repeat demo accounts, billing flexibility is a conversation; standard terms are credit card before delivery for the first job, then we work out what fits the project.
What's your largest demo-contractor account been?
Multi-week multi-can demolition jobs across multiple sites — concrete demo + structural removal + cleanup phases each running their own can rotation. Twelve years means we've worked with most of the demo contractors operating in lower Fairfield County and the New Haven area. The honest answer: there's no 'too big' if your sites are in our service area — we just stage the right number of cans at the right cadence.
