Grizzly Junk Pros dumpster being positioned at a residential CT property for a move-out cleanout

The last week of a lease is usually a scramble. The movers took what you're keeping. There's a couch, three lamps, two chairs, and a dresser left in the bedroom — all the furniture that didn't fit the new place. Plus the pile of "I'll sort this later" boxes in the closet. Plus the broken IKEA bookshelf the movers refused.

That's a move-out cleanout. We do these all day, every day, across our service area. Same-day when in-area. Same-day or next-day for everywhere else. Single phone call, no sales process, real pricing.

Who this is for

  • Renters at the end of a lease — apartments, condos, single-family
  • Condo owners selling or vacating
  • Homeowners mid-move whose belongings outgrew the new house
  • Landlords and property managers prepping units between tenants
  • Anyone leaving a property with stuff that's not coming with them

If you have a deadline (lease ends Friday, closing on Monday, movers come Saturday) — call early. The earlier you book, the more flexibility we have on dispatch.

What we do

  • Show up. Truck arrives at the window we confirmed.
  • Walk the unit. Crew lead with you (or your designated contact). You point at what goes; we plan the load.
  • Load. Two- or three-person crew, ~20-cubic-yard truck (bigger than the standard 15-17 cu yd industry truck — more space per dollar). We do the lifting; you watch or step out.
  • Sort at the curb. Donatable items separated for charity routing. Everything else hauled.
  • Broom-sweep (when requested). Floors swept, surfaces wiped, light bulk debris cleared.
  • Invoice. Final tier confirmed before we leave. Credit card, cash, or check.

Single-room jobs: 1-2 hours. Whole-unit jobs: 3-6 hours. Multi-unit landlord cleanouts: scheduled across multiple visits when scope justifies.

Junk removal — truck-space pricing

When loading the dumpster yourself isn’t the right call — small volume, awkward access, or you just want it gone today — we send a crew. Pricing runs by truck space used, not by item. Final pricing confirmed before removal begins.

  • Minimum Load$145
  • 1/8 Truckload$195
  • 1/6 Truckload$250
  • 1/4 Truckload (~5 yd³)$295
  • 1/3 Truckload$340
  • 3/8 Truckload$395
  • 1/2 Truckload (~10 yd³)$455
  • 5/8 Truckload$535
  • 2/3 Truckload$615
  • 3/4 Truckload (~15 yd³)$655
  • 5/6 Truckload$690
  • 7/8 Truckload$745
  • Full Truckload (~20 yd³)$795

Not sure which tier? Send a few photos and we’ll size it for you.

Pricing for move-out cleanouts

Junk-removal pricing by truck-space used at the end of the job — 13-tier ladder from $145 (minimum load) to $795 (full truckload). Typical move-out ranges:

  • Single-room cleanout (some furniture, some boxes, some random stuff): $145-$295
  • Studio or one-bedroom full unit: $295-$535
  • Two-bedroom apartment: $455-$795
  • Single-family home (typical move-out, not whole-home cleanout): $795-$1,400 across one or two visits

For projects bigger than a typical move-out — full estate cleanout, downsizing, foreclosure — see Whole-Home Cleanouts. For very heavy debris loads (broken concrete, dirt, demolition material), a 10-yard dumpster at $447 might beat junk-removal pricing.

Same rates across our entire service area. No zone surcharges.

Same-day move-out: how it actually works

We get the "I need this done today" call multiple times a week. Honest framing:

  • Call before 11 AM, in-area town, our morning route has capacity → ~85% same-day delivery rate
  • Call 11 AM-2 PM → 25-50% same-day, depending on the day and our load
  • After 2 PM → next-day is the realistic answer

Same-day costs the same as next-day. No expedite surcharge. The question is just whether dispatch capacity exists today — and dispatch capacity is a "call now and find out" answer, not a "guaranteed yes" promise. We tell you on the call what the realistic window looks like. See same-day vs. next-day in CT for the town-by-town map.

Move-out cleanout FAQs

Can you do same-day move-out cleanouts?
Yes — same-day works when you call before 11 AM and you're within ~45 minutes of one of our depots (Fairfield, NH, lower Westchester, southern Hartford, coastal Middlesex). After 11 AM the odds drop. Phones answered Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM live, AI after-hours and weekends.
What counts as junk vs. donatable?
If it's broken, soiled, or end-of-life, it's junk — straight to the truck. If it's in usable condition (working furniture, clean clothing, books, working small appliances), we route it to a charity partner (Goodwill, Habitat ReStore, Salvation Army). You don't have to sort — we sort at the curb.
Do you take appliances and mattresses?
Yes. Refrigerators, freezers, AC units, dehumidifiers, washers, dryers, stoves, microwaves — all fine. CT mattress recycling is built into the operating model: mattresses route through the CT Mattress Stewardship Program (free statewide) when convenient, or come with us at $50 each disposal fee. See [the CT mattress takeback program post](/blog/mattress-disposal-connecticut) for the free path.
Will you do a broom-sweep finish?
Yes — broom-sweep is standard for cleanouts where it's needed. Floors swept, surfaces wiped down, light bulk debris cleared. We don't do deep cleaning (carpet shampoo, oven scrub, baseboards) — that's a cleaning company's job. Apartment / landlord-walkthrough-ready, not realtor-photoshoot-ready.
What if I don't know exactly how much I'm leaving behind?
That's most calls. Send us photos to (203) 219-8855 or walk us through it on the phone. We'll quote a tier range. We confirm the final tier on site before loading — never bait-and-switch up after the truck arrives.
Does this work for landlords prepping a rental for the next tenant?
Yes — landlord turnover work is regular dispatch. We can coordinate with the property manager, the outgoing tenant, or directly with the unit. For multi-property landlord cleanouts on a regular cadence, see [Commercial: Property Managers](/commercial-dumpster-rental-for-property-managers) for the account workflow.
Can you help if I'm leaving the country / state and can't be on site?
Yes — we run move-outs where the resident has already left. Coordinate access with the landlord or property manager; share photos of the unit; we walk it and clean it. Payment by credit card or wire. Final-state photos sent to you when done.
