We dispatch Kent from our Stamford depot, about 80 minutes door-to-door from our Stamford depot via Route 7 north. Kent is a tourist destination — Kent Falls State Park, the antique corridor along US-7, the Bull's Bridge covered-bridge area. Most local jobs are weekend-home renovation prep, estate cleanouts, or small-contractor work at residential properties along the Housatonic River. Some of our Kent work is post-rental cleanouts at weekend-home rental properties along the Kent / South Kent border. ~80 minutes from Stamford depot via Route 7 north. Pure next-day default. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Litchfield counties. This page is what I tell Kent homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Kent?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Kent use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Kent village (US-7) and Schaghticoke Mountain — size sets the rate, not the address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at a licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access," and the Kent dispatch from our Stamford depot is built into the base rate, not added on top.

Four sizes cover almost every Kent project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering, single-layer roof tear-offs, and contractor work. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — delivered as two 20-yard cans (same-day or swapped) for full additions, multi-room renovations, and commercial buildouts. Full pricing reference at How Pricing Works.

What size dumpster do I need for Kent projects?

Single-bath remodel: 10-yard at $447. Standard Kent bath gut. Tourist-corridor placement along US-7 typically uses the 10 for its smaller footprint.

Kitchen reno or weekend-home prep: 15-yard at $547. Most-common Kent rental.

Estate cleanout, addition framing, post-rental cleanout: 20-yard at $647. Kent's rural lots accommodate the 20-yard cleanly outside the village core.

Major contractor work, larger estates: 30/40-yard at $899. Two 20-yard cans — easy placement given Kent's long rural driveways outside the village.

Where can I put a dumpster in Kent?

Kent village (US-7 corridor) is the tight-placement neighborhood — historic-district context plus tourist-corridor commercial frontage means we frequently recommend the 10-yard for any village-center work where a 15 wouldn't fit. South Kent, Macedonia area, Skiff Mountain, Schaghticoke have long rural driveways and easy placement.

Kent Falls State Park area is mostly state land — placement is on private properties surrounding the park, which can be long-driveway rural parcels.

State route placement along US-7 or Route 341 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead of the town Street Use Permit.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal. We don't recommend lawn drops if it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street and text it to (203) 219-8855 if you're not sure about clearance or approach.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Kent?

Kent is about a 80-minute run from our Stamford depot via Route 7 north — at the outer band of our regular service radius. We run Kent jobs pure next-day default. Route 7 north traffic patterns and winter weather impacts make same-day unreliable at this distance; we schedule next-day to give you a confirmed window rather than a maybe. Winter dispatch can shift to next-day-plus on confirmed orders if road conditions deteriorate — far-NW Litchfield gets weather that the lower CT counties don't. We'll call you the morning of if a storm shifts the delivery window. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.

What about the Kent Transfer Station?

Kent's transfer station is at 38 Maple Street, open Saturday and Sunday 8 AM–3:30 PM (gate closes at 3:15 PM) per townofkentct.gov. Phone (860) 927-4627. Kent is an HRRA (Housatonic Resource Recovery Authority) member — HRRA serves 14 western CT municipalities + population over 266,000. Permits available at the First Selectman's office or at the Transfer Station during operating hours.

For Kent residents weighing self-haul against a Grizzly roll-off, the math runs roughly the same as in any Litchfield County town: a self-haul is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate. A 10-yard at $447 base delivered to your Kent driveway, picked up, and dumped covers everything in one shot. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads — and for rural far-NW Litchfield properties where the self-haul drive itself can eat a half-day round trip.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those go through CT DEEP collection days.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Kent, CT?

Private property — your driveway, your land: no permit required. Standard rural Kent case outside the village. Public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way: check with Kent Town Hall at 41 Kent Green Boulevard per townofkentct.gov — Kent's small-town municipal structure routes permit questions through the First Selectman's office. The Historic District Commission reviews village-center work; the Building Department fields broader permit-scope questions. Kent village (US-7 corridor) placement requires more careful permit consideration given historic-district context. State route placement along US-7 or Route 341 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead.

What customers in Kent are saying

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.
