We dispatch Middlebury from our West Haven yard, about 35 minutes door-to-door via I-84 + Route 64. Middlebury sits at the NW corner of New Haven County, right against the Litchfield County line — small affluent-suburban character, Quassy Amusement Park on the lake, Westover School (private boarding) in town, most residential housing stock mid-century to newer subdivision builds on larger lots. Easy I-84 connection keeps the West-Haven-yard run close. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Litchfield counties. This page is what I tell Middlebury homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Middlebury?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Middlebury use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Middlebury Center and Yale Avenue corridor — size sets the rate, not the address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at a licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access," and the Middlebury dispatch from our West Haven yard is built into the base rate, not added on top.

Four sizes cover almost every Middlebury project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering, single-layer roof tear-offs, and contractor work. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — delivered as two 20-yard cans (same-day or swapped) for full additions, multi-room renovations, and commercial buildouts. Full pricing reference at How Pricing Works.

What size dumpster do I need for Middlebury projects?

Single-bath remodel: 10-yard at $447. Standard Middlebury bath gut.

Kitchen reno or single-room remodel: 15-yard at $547. Most-common Middlebury rental — mid-century housing stock generates steady kitchen-renovation work.

Whole-house decluttering, addition framing: 20-yard at $647. Larger lot sizes mean 20-yard placement is rarely a constraint.

Major contractor work: 30/40-yard at $899. Two 20-yard cans, same-day or swapped — easy placement given Middlebury's wider driveways.

Where can I put a dumpster in Middlebury?

Middlebury's larger residential lots mean placement is straightforward across most of the town — driveways throughout Westover, Tranquility Farm, and the Lake Quassapaug area handle all rental sizes without complication.

Middlebury Center is small civic core; placement is suburban-standard.

Quassy / Yale Avenue corridor has mixed commercial-residential; state-route placement along Route 64 needs CT DOT Encroachment Permit consideration.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal. We don't recommend lawn drops if it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street and text it to (203) 219-8855 if you're not sure about clearance or approach.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Middlebury?

Middlebury is about a 35-minute run from our West Haven yard via I-84 + Route 64 — the NW corner of New Haven County, on the Litchfield County line. We run Middlebury jobs next-day default. Same-day is sometimes possible if you call before 9 AM and our morning I-84 dispatch has capacity, but the Route 8 north / I-84 corridor is genuinely further than the rest of the NH County interior, and traffic patterns add unpredictability. We'd rather be honest about that than over-promise and miss a delivery window. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.

What about the Middlebury Transfer Station?

Middlebury's transfer station is at 1 Service Road, open Tuesday–Friday 7 AM–2:45 PM and Saturday 7:30 AM–3:15 PM (closed Sun/Mon and holidays) per middlebury-ct.org. Phone (203) 758-1616. Residents-only — free permit sticker issued at the scale house with proof of CT license + Middlebury vehicle registration.

For Middlebury residents weighing self-haul against a Grizzly roll-off, the math runs roughly the same as in any New Haven County town: a self-haul is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate. A 10-yard at $447 base delivered to your Middlebury driveway, picked up, and dumped covers everything in one shot. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads — and for the larger Middlebury lots where multiple trips eat the afternoon.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those go through CT DEEP collection days.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Middlebury, CT?

Private property — your driveway, your land: no permit required. Standard Middlebury rental case given the larger suburban lots. Public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way: coordinate with Middlebury Public Works (Director Nick Sidorick, 1 Service Road, 203-577-4170) per middlebury-ct.org. State route placement along Route 64, Route 188, or I-84 service road needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead.

What customers in Middlebury are saying

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.

Middlebury dumpster rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver to Middlebury?
Next-day default with same-day sometimes possible. Middlebury's about 35 minutes from our West Haven yard via I-84 — the NW-corner of New Haven County, sitting right next to the Litchfield County line.
What's the most common size in Middlebury?
15-yard at $547 for kitchen renos; 20-yard at $647 for whole-house and addition work — Middlebury's larger lots accommodate the bigger sizes without complication.
Do you handle the Lake Quassapaug area?
Yes — lakeside residential is regular dispatch. Most properties have plenty of driveway room. For tighter lake-front parcels, the 10-yard or 15-yard's smaller footprint sometimes works better.

No. We don't zone-price. The 35-minute dispatch from West Haven is built into the published base rates.
Can you handle Westover School area work?
Yes — Westover-area properties and surrounding affluent residential are standard dispatch. Larger lots typically simplify staging for the 20-yard or 30/40-yard tier (two 20-yard cans).
Do I need a permit for my Middlebury driveway dumpster?
No, not for private property. Public street or town right-of-way: that's a coordination conversation with Middlebury Public Works. State route placement along Route 64 or 188 is CT DOT instead.
