We dispatch Middletown from our West Haven yard, about 35 minutes door-to-door from our West Haven yard via Route 66. Middletown is the mid-size county-seat city of Middlesex County (~47,000 residents). Downtown Main Street + Wesleyan University drive the daytime population; the surrounding Westfield, Long Hill, and South Farms residential blocks make up most of our local dispatch. Downtown density triggers permit conversations — many Main Street and side-street buildings have no usable private driveway. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, Litchfield, and Middlesex counties. This page is what I tell Middletown homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Middletown?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Middletown use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Downtown Middletown and Highland Pond — size sets the rate, not the address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at a licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access," and the Middletown dispatch from our West Haven yard is built into the base rate, not added on top.

Four sizes cover almost every Middletown project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering, single-layer roof tear-offs, and contractor work. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — delivered as two 20-yard cans (same-day or swapped) for full additions, multi-room renovations, and commercial buildouts. Full pricing reference at How Pricing Works.

What size dumpster do I need for Middletown projects?

Single-bath remodel or concrete tear-up: 10-yard at $447. Standard Middletown bath gut. Also the right size for any heavy load.

Kitchen reno or single-room remodel: 15-yard at $547. Most-common Middletown rental — older Westfield housing stock generates regular kitchen-renovation work with mixed plaster + cabinetry debris.

Whole-house decluttering or multi-family turnover: 20-yard at $647. Estate cleanouts in older Middletown neighborhoods and student-rental turnovers near Wesleyan fit cleanly.

Major contractor work, full additions: 30/40-yard at $899. Two 20-yard cans, same-day or swapped — useful for downtown Main Street work where a single 30 wouldn't fit, and for larger renovation projects.

Where can I put a dumpster in Middletown?

Downtown Middletown is the tight-placement neighborhood — Main Street and Court Street blocks often have no usable private driveway, putting the can on the street (permit conversation). The two-20 delivery model on the 30/40-yard tier helps here — narrower cans fit downtown blocks where a single big can wouldn't.

Wesleyan University area generates regular student-rental cleanouts in late spring (May graduation cycle) and August move-in cleanouts.

Westfield, Long Hill, South Farms, Newfield, Highland Pond have suburban-standard driveways; standard private-property placement covers most rentals.

State route placement along Route 66, Route 17, Route 9, or Route 154 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead of the city Street Use Permit.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal. We don't recommend lawn drops if it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street and text it to (203) 219-8855 if you're not sure about clearance or approach.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Middletown?

Middletown is about a 35-minute run from our West Haven yard via Route 66 — closer-band Middlesex County dispatch. We run Middletown jobs next-day default. Same-day is sometimes possible if you call before 9 AM and our morning I-95 east / Route 9 dispatch has capacity. Middlesex County is genuinely closer than far-NW Litchfield, but we still prefer to honestly promise next-day rather than over-commit on same-day. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.

What about the Middletown Transfer Station?

Middletown's Recycling Center is at 185 Johnson Street (corner of Johnson and North Main), open Mon–Fri 7 AM–2:45 PM plus seasonal Saturday hours (April–June + September–November: Saturdays 7–11:45 AM; December–March + July–August: 1st & 3rd Saturdays only) per middletownct.gov. Resident pass required — issued online or at DPW in City Hall with vehicle registration. Several Middlesex County towns participate in RiverCOG (Lower CT River Valley Council of Governments) regional disposal arrangements.

For Middletown residents weighing self-haul against a Grizzly roll-off, the math runs roughly the same as in any Middlesex County town: a self-haul is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate. A 10-yard at $447 base delivered to your Middletown driveway, picked up, and dumped covers everything in one shot. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those go through CT DEEP collection days.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Middletown, CT?

Private property — your driveway, your private parking pad: no permit required. Standard Westfield / Long Hill / South Farms case. Public street, sidewalk, or city right-of-way: yes — coordinate with Middletown Public Works at City Hall for a Street Use Permit per middletownct.gov. Plan a few business days for permit processing given downtown density. The street-permit case comes up regularly downtown — many Main Street buildings lack usable private driveways. Plan a few business days for permit processing. State route placement along Route 66, Route 17, Route 9, or Route 154 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead.

What customers in Middletown are saying

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.

Middletown dumpster rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver to Middletown?
Next-day default with same-day sometimes possible. Middletown's about 35 minutes from our West Haven yard via Route 66 — closer-band Middlesex County dispatch. Call before 9 AM and we'll check morning route capacity for same-day.
Can you deliver downtown Middletown?
Yes — but street placement is common in those blocks because many downtown buildings have no usable private driveway. That's a Middletown Public Works Street Use Permit conversation. The 30/40-yard tier's two-20 delivery model helps downtown — narrower 20-yard cans fit where a single big can wouldn't.
Do you handle Wesleyan student-rental cleanouts?
Yes — late-spring and August student-rental cleanouts are regular Middletown dispatch. 20-yard at $647 fits most full-apartment turnovers; for multi-unit work on the same property, the 30/40-yard tier (two 20-yard cans delivered same-day to two spots) often works better.
What's the typical size for a Westfield kitchen reno?
15-yard at $547. Westfield's older housing stock often includes plaster removal as part of a kitchen reno — the 15's 1-ton allowance handles mixed heavy debris.
Are there extra charges for Middletown dispatch?
No. We don't zone-price. The 35-minute dispatch from West Haven is built into the published $447 / $547 / $647 / $899 base rates.
Do I need a permit for my Middletown driveway dumpster?
No, not for private property. Public street, sidewalk, or city right-of-way: that's a Street Use Permit conversation with Middletown Public Works. State route placement along Route 66 / 17 / 9 / 154 is CT DOT instead.
