Our depot sits at 1 Woodchuck Road in North Stamford, and Trumbull is about a 25–30 minute drive northeast via the Merritt Parkway and Route 25. We've dropped roll-offs on Long Hill ranch driveways during kitchen tear-outs, on Nichols and Tashua colonials for whole-house decluttering, behind retail along the Hawley Lane corporate corridor, and at contractor sites near Westfield Trumbull. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties. This page is what I tell Trumbull homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Trumbull?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Trumbull use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Long Hill and Nichols, between a Daniels Farm split-level and a Trumbull Center colonial — size sets the rate, not address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at the licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access."

Four sizes cover almost every Trumbull project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for most single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering and single-layer roof tear-offs. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — contractor-tier for full gut-rehabs, multi-room renovations, and commercial site work. All four prices are flat, all four include the 7-day window.

What size dumpster do I need for Trumbull projects?

Trumbull's housing is mostly postwar — the population doubled in the 1950s and most of what stands today went up between then and the late 1960s. That means a lot of ranches, capes, splits, and modest colonials with original kitchens and baths slowly turning over to second and third owners. Sizing follows the project, not the neighborhood.

10-yard ($447) holds about three pickup-truck loads. Right-sized for: a single-bath remodel in a Long Hill ranch, a half-garage cleanout in Daniels Farm, a small landscape-debris job along the Pequonnock River corridor, or any concrete-or-dirt-only load. Heavy materials hit the weight cap before they fill the box, so go small for clean fill, broken concrete, or brick.

15-yard ($547) holds about four to five pickup-truck loads. The sweet spot for most Trumbull homeowners. Full garage cleanout in a Tashua split-level, basement cleanout in an older Nichols cape, mid-size kitchen or bath renovation, attic clear-out before listing the house. If you're not sure between sizes, this is the safe pick.

20-yard ($647) holds about six pickup-truck loads. Right-sized for: whole-house decluttering before a move, single-layer asphalt roof tear-off on a typical Trumbull colonial, a mid-size renovation generating drywall and framing waste, or a full estate cleanout in Trumbull Center where the contents are mostly furniture. Roof debris runs heavy: a typical 2,000 sq ft home generates 3-4 tons of asphalt-shingle waste, which means roughly $200-400 in overweight charges at $0.10/lb beyond the 2-ton included weight on a 20-yard — and total stays below the 30/40-yard's $899 base for most homes. Size up to 30/40-yard only for roofs over 2,500 sq ft or two-layer tear-offs.

30/40-yard ($899) is contractor-tier. Right-sized for: a full gut-rehab on a Long Hill ranch, a major addition off Daniels Farm Road, a multi-room renovation, a commercial cleanout near Hawley Lane or Westfield Trumbull, or a roof tear-off on a larger home with two layers of shingles. Confirm the layer count before you book — second layers double the haul weight.

Where can I put a dumpster in Trumbull?

The standard placement is your driveway, with the heavy end of the can over a flat, hard surface. Most Trumbull driveways are asphalt and take a roll-off without an issue. Paver driveways and stamped concrete need 2x12 boards under the wheels and the heavy end — tell us upfront so we stage the boards on the truck.

The placement constraints we see most often in Trumbull: vertical clearance (mature tree canopies along the older Pequonnock River corridor and through northern Tashua can drop low — the loaded delivery truck needs about 22 feet overhead), approach width on the secondary roads where shoulders are tight, and slope on a handful of the steeper Long Hill and Nichols driveways. A 20-yard rolled down a steep grade is a problem we'd rather not solve at delivery; we'll often back-set the can closer to the street rather than push deep into a constricted driveway.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal; the lawn recovers. We don't recommend lawn drops if your project will run more than a couple weeks or it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Trumbull, CT?

Three cases, three answers.

Private property — driveway, lawn, your own parking pad: no permit required. That's the vast majority of residential rentals in Trumbull. Drop the dumpster and start your project.

Public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way: yes — a Right-of-Way / Street Use permit through Trumbull Public Works. The Highway Department sits at 366 Church Hill Road, phone (203) 452-5070. Plan a few business days for processing. The street-permit case mostly comes up on tighter Trumbull Center blocks where there's no usable driveway, and for contractors staging multi-week dumpsters in a curb lane during a demo.

State route placement: a Connecticut DOT Encroachment Permit instead of (not in addition to) the town permit. This applies if your property fronts a state route and you'd be placing the dumpster in the state right-of-way. In Trumbull, that includes parts of Route 25, Route 127, and the briefly-passing-through Route 8 corridor. Rare for homeowners, more common for commercial sites along Route 25.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Trumbull?

Same-day is real for Trumbull when the timing lines up. Our trucks dispatch from Woodchuck Road in North Stamford; the run up the Merritt Parkway and across to Route 25 puts most of Trumbull inside a 25–30 minute drive. If you call before 11 AM and the size you want is on the lot, we can almost always drop the can the same day. After 11 AM or on weekends, next-day is standard.

We're answering the phone Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM — we do our best to accommodate earlier or later requests when the schedule allows. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends. For contractors running multi-week projects who need a swap (we pull the full can and drop a fresh empty), call ahead and we'll plan the swap into the route.

What about the TEaM Transfer Station?

Trumbull, Easton, and Monroe share a single regional transfer station — the TEaM Transfer Station at 101 Spring Hill Road in Trumbull, scale house (203) 452-5167. Hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM–2:45 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM–11:45 AM, closed Sunday. Trumbull residents need a town dump permit (purchased at Town Hall) to use the facility.

For Trumbull residents on the fence between a Grizzly roll-off and a self-haul, the math runs roughly like this: a 1-ton self-haul under a resident permit is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate, plus multiple round-trips for anything bigger than a small project. A 10-yard roll-off from us is $447 base — delivered, picked up, dumped. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads. Self-haul wins for one small load if you have a truck and a free Saturday morning.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those have to be routed through CT DEEP's hazardous-waste collection or a town hazmat day. CFC-containing appliances (refrigerators, freezers, AC units, dehumidifiers) and tires have separate handling rules — call the scale house if you're unsure.

Trumbull neighborhoods we serve

Trumbull isn't one place — it's a stack of postwar villages and corridors, each with its own driveway shape and project mix.

  • Long Hill — the southern end, dense with 1950s and 60s ranches and capes turning over to renovation owners. Heavy kitchen and bath reno volume.
  • Nichols — older eastern Trumbull, mix of mid-century ranches and a handful of pre-war farmhouses, deeper lots, more landscape work.
  • Tashua — northern Trumbull, larger lots, more split-levels and contemporary homes, frequent garage and basement cleanouts.
  • Daniels Farm — central, suburban-residential, lot of original 1960s housing now seeing whole-house decluttering before resale.
  • Trumbull Center — the town's commercial-and-civic core around Church Hill Road, mix of small commercial cleanouts and tight-driveway residential.
  • Hawley Lane corridor — the corporate-and-retail spine along the Bridgeport line; commercial roll-off and tenant-turnover work.
  • White Plains Road area — secondary commercial and mixed-use along Route 127.

If your part of Trumbull isn't on the list, call — we likely already serve it.

Common Trumbull project types

A decade of dispatch logs sorts pretty cleanly into a few buckets in Trumbull.

  • Kitchen and bath renovations in 1950s–60s ranches and colonials. Single-room scope goes 15-yard; whole-floor scope goes 20-yard. Plaster-and-lath demo loads heavier than drywall.
  • Garage and basement cleanouts as the postwar housing stock turns over. A 15-yard handles most full-garage clears; a 20-yard handles a basement-plus-garage combined push.
  • Roof tear-offs on Trumbull colonials and ranches. Single-layer asphalt: 20-yard. Two-layer: 30/40-yard.
  • Estate cleanouts in Long Hill and Daniels Farm as original owners' families settle properties. Usually a 20-yard plus a junk-removal crew for the heavy items (pianos, hot tubs, treadmills).
  • Deck and patio demos on Tashua and Nichols properties with maturing landscapes.
  • Commercial cleanouts along Hawley Lane and around Westfield Trumbull — tenant turnovers, retail buildouts, contractor debris on 30/40-yard cans with swap scheduling.

What about Grizzly Dumpster Bags in Trumbull?

For Trumbull jobs that don't need a full 10-yard roll-off — a single-bay garage purge off White Plains Road, an attic clear-out before listing the house, or one bedroom of furniture before a move — a Grizzly Dumpster Bag is the cheaper path. The 8-cubic-yard bag holds about 80% of what our smallest roll-off holds, with no rental clock. Combo pricing is $299 vs. $447 for the 10-yard, and the bag fits anywhere a few contractor bags would sit — tighter Long Hill cul-de-sacs and Tashua dead-ends work fine.

What customers in Trumbull are saying

  • Y
Mike and Nino showed up exactly on time, were familiar with both the job and the quoted price, and had the tools with them to make quick work of the job. These two evidently very experienced guys moved the HEAVY convertible sofa downstairs and outside without so much as a single "bump" against the wall of the stairway. As well, they moved the very long and awkward new couch out of the garage, through the same narrow doorway and up the same steep and narrow stairs without the slightest nick of the railing or bump against the wall. They unpacked the new sofa and disposed of the packing as well, leaving no mess at all.

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Trumbull dumpster rental FAQs

How much is a 20-yard dumpster in Trumbull, CT?
$647 base. That covers delivery, pickup, dumping, and the standard 7-day rental window. The 20-yard fits about 6 pickup-truck loads of mixed renovation or household debris — the most common pick for whole-house decluttering and single-layer roof tear-offs on Trumbull's postwar colonial and ranch stock. Roof debris runs heavy — typical 2,000 sq ft home generates $200-400 in overweight charges at $0.10/lb beyond the 2-ton cap on a 20-yard. Size up to 30/40-yard for roofs over 2,500 sq ft or two-layer tear-offs.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in my driveway in Trumbull?
No. Trumbull doesn't require a permit for a dumpster placed entirely on private property — your driveway, lawn, or parking pad. Permits only come into play when the dumpster sits in a public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way; that's a Right-of-Way / Street Use permit through Trumbull Public Works at (203) 452-5070.
How fast can you deliver a dumpster to Trumbull?
Almost always same-day if you call before 11 AM. Our trucks dispatch from Woodchuck Road in North Stamford, and Trumbull is about a 25–30 minute drive northeast via the Merritt Parkway and Route 25. After 11 AM or on weekends, next-day is standard. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM — we do our best to accommodate earlier or later requests when the schedule allows. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.
What size dumpster do I need for a Long Hill kitchen reno?
Single-room kitchen reno in a typical Long Hill ranch or colonial: 15-yard ($547). Whole-floor or kitchen-plus-bath scope: 20-yard ($647). The 1950s and 60s housing in Long Hill, Tashua, and Daniels Farm often hides plaster, lath, and old cast-iron tubs behind the cabinets, which means the demo loads heavier per cubic foot than newer construction.
What about the TEaM Transfer Station on Spring Hill Road?
The TEaM Transfer Station at 101 Spring Hill Road serves Trumbull, Easton, and Monroe residents. Hours are Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–2:45 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM–11:45 AM, closed Sunday. Scale house line: (203) 452-5167. Residents need a Trumbull dump permit (purchased at Town Hall). Hazardous waste isn't accepted — that goes through CT DEEP collection days. For projects over a half-truckload, a Grizzly roll-off saves the trips.
Can a roll-off fit in a Nichols or Tashua driveway?
Almost always. Nichols and Tashua driveways tend to be flat-to-moderate grade asphalt — straightforward roll-off placements. The two things that come up: mature tree canopies overhead (the loaded delivery truck needs about 22 feet vertical clearance), and the occasional steep approach off the secondary roads in north Trumbull. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street if you're not sure and text it to us before delivery.
What about commercial dumpsters along Hawley Lane or near Westfield Trumbull?
Standard work for us. The Hawley Lane corporate corridor and the Westfield Trumbull mall area run mostly 20-yard and 30/40-yard cans for office tenant turnovers, retail buildouts, and contractor demolition. Commercial sites usually want a swap schedule — we pull the full can, drop a fresh empty in the same spot, route on the same day when dispatch has room.
What's the difference between Grizzly Junk Pros and Stamford Junk Pros?
Same company. Grizzly Junk Pros is the dba of Stamford Junk Pros LLC. We started in Stamford in 2014 and operate across Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties from our Stamford base. Same team, same number — (203) 219-8855.
