We dispatch Rocky Hill from our West Haven yard, about 45 minutes door-to-door from our West Haven yard via I-91 north. Rocky Hill is the affluent CT River-shore suburb between Hartford and Middletown. Dinosaur State Park sits on the south side, the Old Main Street historic district runs north along the river, and the residential housing stock skews 1940s through newer subdivision builds. Easy I-91 dispatch. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties. This page is what I tell Rocky Hill homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Rocky Hill?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Rocky Hill use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Old Main Street historic and Brookmoor — size sets the rate, not the address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at a licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access," and the Rocky Hill dispatch from our West Haven yard is built into the base rate, not added on top.

Four sizes cover almost every Rocky Hill project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering, single-layer roof tear-offs, and contractor work. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — delivered as two 20-yard cans (same-day or swapped) for full additions, multi-room renovations, and commercial buildouts. Full pricing reference at How Pricing Works.

What size dumpster do I need for Rocky Hill projects?

Single-bath remodel: 10-yard at $447. Standard Rocky Hill bath gut.

Kitchen reno or single-room remodel: 15-yard at $547. Most-common Rocky Hill rental — the mid-century and newer housing stock generates steady kitchen and master-bath work.

Whole-house decluttering, addition framing waste, basement-finish: 20-yard at $647. Mid-size renovation work in the Dividend / Brookmoor newer subdivisions fits this size cleanly.

Major contractor work: 30/40-yard at $899. Delivered as two 20-yard cans — works well for the longer additions in the Brookmoor area and the occasional Dinosaur State Park-area commercial work.

Where can I put a dumpster in Rocky Hill?

Rocky Hill's placement math is mostly suburban-friendly — wide driveways throughout Brookmoor, Dividend, and West Street, with standard private-property placement. The Old Main Street historic district has tighter older lots and preservation context to consider; we'll advise on placement at booking if your project is in that area.

CT River-side placement along the eastern blocks is straightforward — driveway depths hold a 20 comfortably. State route placement along Route 99 (Cromwell Avenue) or Route 160 (Glastonbury Avenue) needs CT DOT Encroachment Permit if the can would sit in the state right-of-way.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal. We don't recommend lawn drops if it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street and text it to (203) 219-8855 if you're not sure about clearance or approach.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Rocky Hill?

Rocky Hill is about a 45-minute run from our West Haven yard via I-91 north — one of the closer-in Hartford County towns we dispatch to. We run Rocky Hill jobs next-day default. Same-day is sometimes possible if you call before 9 AM and our morning route has capacity, but Hartford County is genuinely further than the New Haven County interior we cover same-day reliably, and we'd rather be honest about that than over-promise and miss a delivery window. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM — we do our best to accommodate earlier or later requests when the schedule allows. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.

What about the Rocky Hill Transfer Station?

Rocky Hill's transfer station is at 59 Old Forge Road, open Thursday–Friday 7 AM–2 PM and Saturday 7 AM–1 PM (closed Sunday through Wednesday) per rockyhillct.gov. Phone (860) 258-2766. Residents only — no contractors; ID required at the gate.

For Rocky Hill residents weighing self-haul against a Grizzly roll-off, the math runs roughly the same as in any Hartford County town: a self-haul is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate. A 10-yard at $447 base delivered to your Rocky Hill driveway, picked up, and dumped covers everything in one shot. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those go through CT DEEP collection days.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Rocky Hill, CT?

Private property — your driveway, your land: no permit required. Standard Rocky Hill rental case. Public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way: apply through the Rocky Hill Building Department (860) 258-2733, 761 Old Main Street — Rocky Hill's dumpster permit runs $25 and requires proof of $500,000 liability insurance per rockyhillct.gov. The street-permit case mostly comes up around the Old Main Street historic district. State route placement along Route 3, Route 99, or Route 160 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead.

What customers in Rocky Hill are saying

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.

Rocky Hill dumpster rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver to Rocky Hill?
Next-day default with same-day sometimes possible for early calls. Rocky Hill's about 45 minutes via I-91 north — one of the closer Hartford County dispatches.
What size for a Rocky Hill kitchen reno?
15-yard at $547 is the typical pick. Mid-century and newer housing stock means kitchen demos are mixed-debris but not unusually heavy.
Do you handle Old Main Street historic district work?
Yes — but placement requires careful planning given the tighter older lots and preservation context. We'll talk through driveway approach at booking; if your project is on a particularly tight historic-district lot, we might recommend the 10-yard for its smaller footprint.
Are there extra charges for Rocky Hill dispatch?
No. We don't zone-price. The 45-minute dispatch from West Haven is built into the published base rates.
Can I rent for a Brookmoor addition?
Yes — Brookmoor's the bulk of our larger Rocky Hill work. For multi-week additions, the 30/40-yard tier (two 20-yard cans, swapped as the project progresses) usually works better than a single static can.
Do I need a permit for my Rocky Hill driveway dumpster?
No, not for private property. Public street, sidewalk, or right-of-way: that's a coordination conversation with Rocky Hill Public Works. State route placement along Route 99 / 160 / 3 is CT DOT instead.
