We dispatch Wethersfield from our West Haven yard, about 45 minutes door-to-door from our West Haven yard via I-91 north. Wethersfield is the oldest town in Connecticut (founded 1634) and the Old Wethersfield historic district along Main Street is one of the largest preserved colonial neighborhoods in New England. That historic-district placement is the operational quirk here — tight 18th-century blocks need careful staging. The rest of the town (Mill Woods / Griswoldville / newer subdivisions) is standard suburban dispatch. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties. This page is what I tell Wethersfield homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Wethersfield?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Wethersfield use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Old Wethersfield and Folly Brook — size sets the rate, not the address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at a licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access," and the Wethersfield dispatch from our West Haven yard is built into the base rate, not added on top.

Four sizes cover almost every Wethersfield project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering, single-layer roof tear-offs, and contractor work. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — delivered as two 20-yard cans (same-day or swapped) for full additions, multi-room renovations, and commercial buildouts. Full pricing reference at How Pricing Works.

What size dumpster do I need for Wethersfield projects?

Small bath remodel or concrete tear-up: 10-yard at $447. Standard Wethersfield bath gut. Also the right size for any heavy debris regardless of project volume.

Kitchen reno or single-room remodel: 15-yard at $547. The most-rented size in Wethersfield. Old Wethersfield historic-district kitchen renos often involve plaster-and-lath work — the 15-yard handles the mixed heavy debris with weight buffer.

Whole-house decluttering or single-layer roof tear-off: 20-yard at $647. Mid-size renovation work outside the historic district fits this size. Tight blocks in Old Wethersfield can't always host a 20 — call about placement first.

Major contractor work: 30/40-yard at $899. Two 20-yard cans, same-day or swapped — useful where a single 30 wouldn't fit in tighter Wethersfield driveways.

Where can I put a dumpster in Wethersfield?

Old Wethersfield historic district is the placement constraint here — Main Street and Broad Street blocks are tight, preservation-sensitive, and the driveways behind 18th-century houses are typically short and narrow. We frequently recommend the 10-yard for historic-district work even when project volume would otherwise suggest a 15, because the smaller footprint fits driveways that can't host a bigger can.

Mill Woods, Griswoldville, and the newer subdivisions have standard suburban driveway depths — 15s, 20s, and even the 30/40-yard tier (as two 20-yard cans) fit without complication.

State route placement along the Berlin Turnpike (Route 15/5) or Hartford Avenue (Route 99) needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead of the town Street Use Permit.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal. We don't recommend lawn drops if it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street and text it to (203) 219-8855 if you're not sure about clearance or approach.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Wethersfield?

Wethersfield is about a 45-minute run from our West Haven yard via I-91 north — one of the closer-in Hartford County towns we dispatch to. We run Wethersfield jobs next-day default. Same-day is sometimes possible if you call before 9 AM and our morning route has capacity, but Hartford County is genuinely further than the New Haven County interior we cover same-day reliably, and we'd rather be honest about that than over-promise and miss a delivery window. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM — we do our best to accommodate earlier or later requests when the schedule allows. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.

What about the Wethersfield Transfer Station?

Wethersfield's transfer station is at 100 Marsh Street, open Monday and Friday 9 AM–2:45 PM, Saturday 8 AM–3:45 PM per wethersfieldct.gov. Phone (860) 721-2845. A permit is required ($30 annual covering 1/2 cubic yard of waste); proof of residency at purchase. Old Wethersfield historic-district projects may also have material-handling considerations (preservation context can affect demolition material routing for tax / preservation-credit purposes).

For Wethersfield residents weighing self-haul against a Grizzly roll-off, the math runs roughly the same as in any Hartford County town: a self-haul is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate. A 10-yard at $447 base delivered to your Wethersfield driveway, picked up, and dumped covers everything in one shot. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those go through CT DEEP collection days.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Wethersfield, CT?

Private property — your driveway, your land: no permit required. Standard suburban Wethersfield rental case. Public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way: apply through Wethersfield Town Hall at 505 Silas Deane Highway — Wethersfield's building permits submit through OpenGov per wethersfieldct.gov. Historic-district work requires a Historic District Commission Certificate of Appropriateness ($50) before any building permit application. Old Wethersfield historic-district placement may have additional review given the preservation context — confirm with the town before booking on properties along Main Street, Broad Street, or near the green. State route placement along Route 15 / Route 5 / Route 99 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead.

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.

Wethersfield dumpster rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver to Wethersfield?
Next-day default with same-day sometimes possible. Wethersfield's about 45 minutes from West Haven via I-91 north — closer-in for Hartford County dispatches.
Can you deliver to Old Wethersfield historic district?
Yes — but placement requires careful planning given the tight 18th-century blocks. We frequently recommend the 10-yard for historic-district work even when project volume might suggest a 15, because the smaller footprint fits driveways that can't host a bigger can. Send us a photo of your driveway entrance from the street if you're not sure what'll fit.
What's the most common size in Wethersfield?
15-yard at $547. Kitchen renos and full-bath gut work across the non-historic-district neighborhoods are the bulk of the dispatch.
Are there permit constraints for Old Wethersfield work?
Possibly — historic-district placement may need additional review beyond the standard street-use process. Confirm with the town before booking on properties along Main Street, Broad Street, or near the green. We don't pull permits for customers; that's your in-person trip to the town offices.
Can I put plaster from an old-house wall removal in a dumpster?
Yes — plaster is fine in a roll-off, but it's heavy. A typical plaster-and-lath wall removal from a single room can run 1,500-2,500 lbs by itself. Don't pair plaster with concrete or asphalt shingles in the same can or you'll exceed the weight ceiling. The 15-yard's 1-ton allowance handles most single-room plaster removals; bigger plaster jobs might want a 10-yard sized for weight.
Are there extra charges for the I-91 dispatch?
No. We don't zone-price. The 45-minute dispatch from West Haven is built into the published base rates.
