We dispatch Berlin from our West Haven yard, about 45 minutes door-to-door from our West Haven yard via I-91 north. Berlin is split between three village centers — Kensington, East Berlin, and the main Berlin Center — plus the commercial stretch along the Berlin Turnpike (Route 15 / Route 5). Most of our Berlin work is suburban single-family renovation; the Turnpike commercial corridor generates occasional contractor jobs but the residential dispatch is the bulk. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties. This page is what I tell Berlin homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Berlin?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Berlin use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Kensington and Berlin Turnpike corridor — size sets the rate, not the address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at a licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access," and the Berlin dispatch from our West Haven yard is built into the base rate, not added on top.

Four sizes cover almost every Berlin project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering, single-layer roof tear-offs, and contractor work. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — delivered as two 20-yard cans (same-day or swapped) for full additions, multi-room renovations, and commercial buildouts. Full pricing reference at How Pricing Works.

What size dumpster do I need for Berlin projects?

Small bath remodel or single concrete pad tear-up: 10-yard at $447. Standard Berlin bath gut.

Kitchen reno or full garage cleanout: 15-yard at $547. Single-room renovation work across all three village centers. Berlin's typical mid-century driveway depths handle a 15 comfortably.

Whole-house decluttering or single-layer roof tear-off: 20-yard at $647. Berlin's residential housing stock skews 1940s-1970s with typical 1,500-2,500 sq ft footprints — a single-layer asphalt tear-off plus light renovation debris fits a 20-yard with weight headroom.

Major contractor work: 30/40-yard at $899. Delivered as two 20-yard cans, useful for Worthington Ridge addition projects or larger commercial work along the Berlin Turnpike.

Where can I put a dumpster in Berlin?

Berlin Turnpike (Route 15 / Route 5) placement is the operational quirk here — properties fronting the state right-of-way need CT DOT Encroachment Permits, not town Street Use Permits. Most residential side-streets off the Turnpike don't have that issue, but anything where the can would sit on or visible to the Turnpike shoulder needs the state permit.

Worthington Ridge has Berlin's larger suburban driveways and the newer subdivision work; placement is straightforward.

Kensington and East Berlin are tighter older village centers; smaller driveways and occasional historic-context considerations. We'll advise on placement at booking if you describe the driveway shape.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal. We don't recommend lawn drops if it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street and text it to (203) 219-8855 if you're not sure about clearance or approach.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Berlin?

Berlin is about a 45-minute run from our West Haven yard via I-91 north — one of the closer-in Hartford County towns we dispatch to. We run Berlin jobs next-day default. Same-day is sometimes possible if you call before 9 AM and our morning route has capacity, but Hartford County is genuinely further than the New Haven County interior we cover same-day reliably, and we'd rather be honest about that than over-promise and miss a delivery window. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM — we do our best to accommodate earlier or later requests when the schedule allows. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.

What about the Berlin Transfer Station?

Berlin's transfer station is at 19 Town Farm Lane, open Monday–Friday 7 AM–3 PM and most Saturdays 8 AM–noon per berlinct.gov. Berlin Public Works (860) 828-7022 handles resident-permit details and the accepted-materials list.

For Berlin residents weighing self-haul against a Grizzly roll-off, the math runs roughly the same as in any Hartford County town: a self-haul is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate. A 10-yard at $447 base delivered to your Berlin driveway, picked up, and dumped covers everything in one shot. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those go through CT DEEP collection days.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Berlin, CT?

Private property — your driveway, your land: no permit required. Standard Berlin rental case. Public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way: coordinate with Berlin Public Works (860) 828-7022 for a Right-of-Way permit per berlinct.gov. Berlin Turnpike placement — if your property fronts Route 15 / Route 5 and the can would sit in the state right-of-way, that's a CT DOT Encroachment Permit. Common for commercial sites along the Turnpike, rare for residential.

Berlin neighborhoods we serve

Berlin sorts cleanly into named areas, each with its own driveway shapes and project mix.

  • Kensington — older village center, tighter driveways, mixed residential
  • East Berlin — village center, mid-size driveways
  • Beckley — rural-residential edges
  • Worthington Ridge — newer subdivisions, larger driveways, addition work
  • Berlin Center — civic core, mid-size mixed residential
  • Berlin Turnpike corridor — commercial Route 15 / Route 5 stretch, contractor work

If your part of Berlin isn't on the list, call — we likely already serve it.

Berlin service area & nearby towns

We dispatch into all Berlin neighborhoods from our West Haven yard. For projects in the surrounding Hartford County towns, we run the same up-front roll-off pricing and the same next-day-default Hartford County cadence:

Berlin pricing tracks the rest of our service area. We don't zone-price within Berlin; we don't surcharge for the dispatch from West Haven. Same up-front rates as our Connecticut roll-off rentals statewide.

What customers in Berlin are saying

Justin is a very nice guy, and a fair, consummately professional business owner. He arrived within 90 minutes of calling to leave a 20 yard dumpster, complete with ladder and side door for putting in heavy objects that aren't easily thrown over the sides. It was a relatively new, clean dumpster too. And he put that dumpster precisely where we wanted it - we asked him to move it back 5 feet, he did exactly that. Price is eminently fair. Weight limits on both are very fair as well. Justin communicates by phone, text, email, and even Yelp messaging!

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

Berlin dumpster rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver a dumpster to Berlin?
Next-day default with same-day sometimes possible. Berlin's about 45 minutes from our West Haven yard via I-91 north. Call before 9 AM and we'll see if our morning route has capacity for same-day; otherwise next-day is standard.
Do you cover the Berlin Turnpike commercial corridor?
Yes — Turnpike commercial work is steady dispatch for us. Placement on properties fronting the Turnpike usually needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit rather than a town permit, because the state owns the right-of-way. We'll talk through which permit applies at booking.
What size for a Kensington kitchen reno?
15-yard at $547 is the typical pick. Kensington's older village-center housing stock often involves plaster removal as part of a kitchen reno, which adds weight — the 15's 1-ton allowance plus the volume buffer over a 10 handles the mixed debris cleanly.
Are there extra charges for Berlin dispatch?
No. We don't zone-price. The 45-minute dispatch from our West Haven yard is built into the published $447 / $547 / $647 / $899 base rates.
Can I put concrete from a driveway tear-up in a dumpster?
Yes, in a 10-yard at $447. Concrete is weight-constrained, not volume-constrained — the 10-yard is the right size for any heavy load. Don't book a 15 or 20 for pure concrete; same weight ceiling, more capacity we can't legally haul once loaded.
Do you handle the Worthington Ridge addition projects?
Yes — Worthington's the bulk of our larger Berlin work. For multi-week addition projects, the 30/40-yard tier (delivered as two 20-yard cans, swapped as the project progresses) usually works better than a single static can.
