We dispatch Plainville from our West Haven yard, about 45 minutes door-to-door from our West Haven yard via Route 72. Plainville is the small suburban town that sits between New Britain and Bristol — a lot of our dispatches there are extension work from contractor jobs we're already running in those neighboring cities. Suburban single-family character, mid-size lots, and easy Route 72 dispatch from the West Haven yard. Over 16,000 dumpster drops and junk-removal jobs since 2014, across Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties. This page is what I tell Plainville homeowners and contractors when they call.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Plainville?

Roll-off dumpster rentals in Plainville use up-front pricing. The price doesn't change between Plainville Center and White Oak — size sets the rate, not the address. The base rate covers delivery, pickup, dumping at a licensed transfer station, and a 7-day rental window. We don't surcharge for "longer driveways" or "harder access," and the Plainville dispatch from our West Haven yard is built into the base rate, not added on top.

Four sizes cover almost every Plainville project. The 10-yard runs $447, right for small bath remodels or concrete-and-dirt loads. The 15-yard runs $547, the sweet spot for single-room renovations and full garage cleanouts. The 20-yard runs $647, the most-common pick for whole-house decluttering, single-layer roof tear-offs, and contractor work. The 30/40-yard runs $899 — delivered as two 20-yard cans (same-day or swapped) for full additions, multi-room renovations, and commercial buildouts. Full pricing reference at How Pricing Works.

What size dumpster do I need for Plainville projects?

Single-bath remodel: 10-yard at $447. Standard Plainville bath gut.

Kitchen reno or garage cleanout: 15-yard at $547. Plainville's typical-suburban housing stock generates regular kitchen and garage work. Mid-size driveways handle the 15 without issue.

Whole-house decluttering, basement-finish, addition framing: 20-yard at $647. Most-common contractor size in Plainville given the multi-week project shape.

Major contractor work: 30/40-yard at $899. Two 20-yard cans, same-day or swapped.

Where can I put a dumpster in Plainville?

Plainville's placement math is suburban-standard — driveway placement on private property handles the vast majority of residential rentals without complication. The town's compact footprint (10 sq mi) means most of our dispatches are within 5 minutes of each other once we're in town.

Plainville Center has a small commercial core; placement on side streets off Whiting Street is straightforward, but anything in the dense downtown blocks may need a town permit conversation.

State route placement along Route 72 or Route 10 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit. Uncommon for residential, more common for commercial sites along the Route 72 corridor between Bristol and New Britain.

For lawn placement, we put planks under the wheels. Minor turf compression is normal. We don't recommend lawn drops if it's been raining — soft ground doesn't hold a loaded box. Snap a photo of the driveway entrance from the street and text it to (203) 219-8855 if you're not sure about clearance or approach.

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Plainville?

Plainville is about a 45-minute run from our West Haven yard via Route 72 — one of the closer-in Hartford County towns we dispatch to. We run Plainville jobs next-day default. Same-day is sometimes possible if you call before 9 AM and our morning route has capacity, but Hartford County is genuinely further than the New Haven County interior we cover same-day reliably, and we'd rather be honest about that than over-promise and miss a delivery window. Delivery and pickup windows fall between 8 AM and 4 PM — we do our best to accommodate earlier or later requests when the schedule allows. Call (203) 219-8855 — live Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM, AI assistant covers after-hours and weekends.

What about the Plainville Transfer Station?

Plainville's transfer station is at 23 Granger Lane, open Monday–Wednesday 8 AM–5 PM and Thursday 8 AM–6 PM during the spring-to-early-December season per plainvillect.com. Plainville Public Works (860) 793-0221 ext. 7176 handles resident-permit details — ID required, residents-only.

For Plainville residents weighing self-haul against a Grizzly roll-off, the math runs roughly the same as in any Hartford County town: a self-haul is your time, your truck, and the per-load fees the town sets at the gate. A 10-yard at $447 base delivered to your Plainville driveway, picked up, and dumped covers everything in one shot. The roll-off wins fast for anything over a couple of pickup-truck loads.

The transfer station does not accept hazardous waste — paint, solvents, oil, pesticides, lithium batteries. Those go through CT DEEP collection days.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Plainville, CT?

Private property — your driveway, your land: no permit required. Standard Plainville rental case. Public street, sidewalk, or town right-of-way: yes — Plainville requires a public-right-of-way permit (starting at $40, valid 10 days) submitted through the Planning and Zoning Department, with Plainville Public Works at (860) 793-0221 ext. 7176 per plainvillect.com. State route placement along Route 72, Route 10, or Route 372 needs a CT DOT Encroachment Permit instead.

What customers in Plainville are saying

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.

Plainville dumpster rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver to Plainville?
Next-day default. Plainville's about 45 minutes via Route 72 — one of the closer Hartford County dispatches. Same-day is sometimes possible for early calls when our morning route has capacity.
What size for a Plainville kitchen reno?
15-yard at $547 is the typical pick — suburban driveways comfortably host a 15, and the size buffers the mixed debris from a single-room renovation.
Are you the same dispatch as Bristol and New Britain?
Same yard (West Haven), same trucks, same pricing. We often combine deliveries in Plainville with Bristol or New Britain runs when the routing works out — but you don't see that complexity; you just see the same up-front rate and the same dispatch reliability.
Do I need a permit for my Plainville driveway?
No, not for private property. Public street or town right-of-way: that's a coordination conversation with Plainville Public Works.
Can I put concrete or shingles in a Plainville rental?
Yes — in a 10-yard at $447. Heavy debris is weight-constrained; the 10-yard is the right size regardless of project volume. Don't book bigger for concrete; you'd pay more for capacity we can't legally haul.
Are there extra charges for the Route 72 dispatch?
No. We don't zone-price. The 45-minute dispatch from West Haven is built into the published base rates.
